Director’s bio

Born in Cairo in Egypt in 1991, of Egyptian and Swiss nationality. Christophe left Egypt for Switzerland in 2010 and joined the ECAL cinema department. In 2014, he completed his bachelor’s degree and obtained his diploma with “very good” honors. DISCIPLINE, his graduation film, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. This film won the Swiss Cinema Prize (Quartz) in the best short film category as well as more than 90 international awards. He then directed his first feature-length documentary, LA VALLEE DU SEL, as well as two short fiction films, PUNCHLINE and SACRILÈGE. In 2018, Canal + and SoFilm asked him to adapt a short story by Hervé Commère: “TOMATIC”, as part of the Polar collection.
