End of the day, on a Swiss train. Yalini, a 27-year-old Tamil-Swiss woman, gets a call from her parents. Once again, they inquire about her agreement with a suggestion for an arranged marriage. As the conversation grows tense, one of the passengers approaches her and expresses annoyance that she’s speaking very loudly. She faces two worlds that do not understand her.

biographie du réalisateur

Born in 1988 in Jaffna (Sri Lanka), Keerthigan Sivakumar arrived in Switzerland as a refugee in 2009. Graduated in visual communication (2016), he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in cinema at ECAL (University of Arts, Lausanne) in 2021. His graduation film DOOSRA (2022) received the “Upcoming Talent” ward at the Solothurn Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Graduation Film in Europe at the Premiers Plans d’Angers (2022) and was nominated for the Swiss Film Awards – Best Graduation Film in 2022.
He is currently developing his first feature documentary project.
