The drought of 1976.
Under the unforgiving summer sun, Gus’s childhood is coming to an end. Nature becomes withered, emotions swell up, and the family unit breaks apart: cracks and crannies take over everything until the unthinkable happens. The eagerly anticipated thunderstorms will sweep across the exhausted countryside and take a whole world with them.

Director’s Bio

  • Delphine Lehericey comes from the theatre, first as an actress and director and then as a video artist. She organizes and participates in training courses for the direction of actors and produces objects filmed for scenographic purposes for dance or theatre. Her work with video gradually moves from documentary to fiction.

In 2007 she directed Comme à Ostende, a medium-length film selected in particular in Locarno in the Filmmakers of the Present section.
In 2009 she co-directed the documentary Les Arbitres with the producers of the show Strip-tease, selected at several festivals and distributed by Gaumont.
In 2011 she made a documentary on designer Jean-Paul Lespagnard Mode in Belgium for Arte and RTBF and in 2013 her first feature film PuppyLove with Solène Rigot and Vincent Perez, was presented as an international premiere at the San Sebastian Festival and in many festivals.

Between 2014 and 2016 Delphine directed the documentary Une cheffe et sa bonne étoile about a star chef for Arte and RTBF.
She co-wrote the comic strip series Etoilé about the world of gastronomy for Dupuis and wrote her first comedy Le feu au lac, which tells the story of a family’s upheaval during the grandfather’s wedding with a man.
In 2019, her second feature film Beyond the horizon is released, with Laetitia Casta and Clémence Poesy.
